The problem was: S = 2 pi r^2 + 2 pi rh
and I got it down to h=S - 2 pi r^2 (over) 2 pi r
my question is can my answer be simplified?
I don't know the code or else I'd make it more understandable...

Re: simplifiying?

Your answer of h=S2πr22πr\displaystyle h=\frac{S-2\pi r^2}{2 \pi r} is one good simplification. Another is h=S2πrr\displaystyle h=\frac{S}{2\pi r}-r.
