We have been working on this for quite some time tonight. I sent my duaghter to bed already.

Simplify:

[(b^2 + 6b - 7)/(6b^2 - 7b - 20)] * [(2b^2 + b - 15)/(b^2 + 2b - 3)]

...all divided by:

[(b^2 + 5b - 14)/(3b^2 - 2b - 8)]

For some reason (the brain isn't working) I can't figure this out at all.

Can you help?

Unfortunately, I've never seen a successful attempt to tutor through a "translator" who doesn't know the material either. We need to work with the actual student, seeing what she knows, what she's tried, and where she's having trouble.

Please have her review how to factor quadratics, so she can factor each polynomial. (This is one of the first things she'll need to do, so we might as well start there.)

If she has trouble with that (after having studied the review in the link above), or if she gets stuck with the multiplying or dividing of the rational expressions, please have her reply (or dictate a reply), showing what she has tried and where she's getting stuck.

Thank you.

Eliz.
