I'll do a "similar" problem that should cover all the problems:
Ax + By = C ........................solve for 'y"
Ax + By - Ax = C - Ax ..........................isolate the "variable (letter)" you want to solve
By = C - Ax
By/(B) = (C - Ax) /(B) ............ isolate further
y = -(A/B) * x + (C/A) ........................ and here you have it - isolated 'y'
1. y=5x, for x
2. y=x+b, for x
3. 8y=5x, for y
4. w=mt+b, for t
