Solve for X

I'm not sure whether the original equation is log(10x) = 1.6 or log10(x) = 1.6. Neither leads to 10x = 1.6; but if they did, you would just divide both sides by 10.

What have you learned about logarithms?

So, where did the question come from? Why is there a "log" there, if you have not been taught about them?

Maybe you should tell us the name of the textbook and the chapter you are in, so we can see the context. Maybe even upload a picture of the page containing this problem, so we can be sure what is expected of you.

It looks like you attached the picture from another thread (where a picture wasn't really needed, as the typed version is identical).

When you provide a picture of this problem, please also answer my questions about the course, chapter, and context -- I want to see what is being taught, not just the question itself.

Since it is apparent that you are using a computer (is the course online, or with no physical textbook?), I might want to see an example or help that is provided with this problem.
