I'm having difficulty solving this equation:

13^(-x-9) = 16 ^ (-8x)

Write your answer as an expression involving base-10 logarithms.

What I have so far:

log base13 13^ (-x-9) = log base13 16 ^(-8x)

-x-9 = log base13 16^(-8x)

-x-9 = -8x (log 16/log 13)

(-x-9)/(-8x) = (log 16/log 13)

What I have so far:

log base13 13^ (-x-9) = log base13 16 ^(-8x)

-x-9 = log base13 16^(-8x)

-x-9 = -8x (log 16/log 13)

(-x-9)/(-8x) = (log 16/log 13)

(x+9)/(8x) = (log 16/log 13)

1/8 + 9/(8x) = (log 16/log 13)

9/(8x) = (8*log 16 - log13)/(8*log 13)

1/x = (8*log 16 - log13)/(9*log 13)

and continue....
