If you have not yet learned about solving simple linear equations, use the link that I posted above for fc1123 (the person in whose thread you posted your question). That link takes you to the Purplemath web site, where I believe your exercise is called a "two-step equation".

Otherwise, if you have a specific question about your exercise, please start your own thread.
