Survey Analysis Question

A survey of recent high school graduates regarding literature that they studied during their high school career yielded the following information: 461 read Gone with the Wind, 571 read Moby D***, 881 read Lord of the Flies, 109 read all three, 29 read none, 33 read only Moby D***, 172 read Moby D*** and Gone with the Wind, and 202 read Gone with the Wind and Lord of the Flies, but not Moby D***. What percent of the recent graduates read exactly one book? Round your answer to the nearest tenth, if necessary.

I have already tried to create a venn-diagram for the work, but I am not sure where to go next. I know that i need to figure out the total number of students surveyed and how many read only one. Then i would divide the two numbers. But i am not sure on how to get these numbers.

Please submit a picture of the Venn diagram that you created and someone at the forum can help you continue from there. A Venn diagram with 3 categories has 8 sections. Once you fill the numbers in the 8 sections, you can simply add them up to get the total number of students surveyed. In filling in the diagram, start with the numbers that have the most detail (mentioning all 3 books rather than one or two books) and go from there. In your problem, that would mean you could put 202, 109, and 29 in the diagram first since they all refer to all 3 books. Then you will probably need to add or subtract to fill in the other 5 sections.
