This is the last one I promise:)

Tabulate a set of values for y from the equation:

y = x^3 - 8x^2 + 24x - 25
for
x = 2, - 1,0,1,2,3, and 4.

from the table chose the two whole values of x that fall either side of y = 0

Thanks again:)

I guess I'm missing something here ... what exactly is your difficulty in creating the desired table and finding the value of x where y is positive and another value of x where y is negative?

I'm sorry if it's simple. It's the whole y = x^3 - 8x^2 + 24x -25 thing.

I understand plotting X but the Y looks confusing?

I'm sorry again if this is very simple, It just looks confusing:-(

just plug in a value for x and calculate what y is for that value of x ...

for example ... for x = -2

y = (-2)<sup>3</sup> - 8(-2)<sup>2</sup> + 24(-2) - 25

y = -8 - 32 - 48 - 25 = -113

get the idea?

now calculate the value for y using the other values of x given to you for the table.
