Annual salary of $38 000 with an increase of 6% in each following year. Earnings after 10 years can be calculated using:

A 38 000((1.06)9-)
_______________
0.06

B 38 000((1.06)10-1)
___________________
0.06

C 38 000(1.06)9

D 38 000(1.06)1o

E 10 over 2( 76 000+9(38 000x0.o6))

The sequence generated by the difference equation tn+1=3tn-2 has 22 as the second term. The first term is:
A -2 B 1 C 64 D 8 E 24.

Thank u for your help. Have missed seven weeks of school due to having spinal surgery.

Year 1: 38,000
Year 2: 38,000(1.06)
Year 3: 38,000(1.06)^2
...
Year 9: 38,000(1.06)^8
Year 10: 38,000(1.06)^9

Having said that, I'm still a little troubled by the question.

"earnings after 10 years" means what?

1) What are the earnings in Year 10? 38,000(1.06)^9 [Amswer C]
2) What are the earnings immediately AFTER year 10, meaning Year 11? 38,000(1.06)^10 [Answer D]
3) Total Amount of Earnings in the first 10 years. 38,000 + 38,000(1.06) + 38,000(1.06)^2 + ... + 38,000(1.06)^8 + 38,000(1.06)^9 [Amswer B]

Very bad question. I hope your grade doesn't depend on it.

Hi... thanks for your help... As i missed out on so much work im TRYING HARD to play catch up. Im sorry, but yes it is a bad question.
