Dear all,
I am trying to estimate how long it will take me to translate a random text. I have noticed that there seems to be three categories of texts (x, y, and z), taking different amount of time per unit text to be processed. To get an idea how long a new text would take to translate, I used five different test texts.
The test texts contained elements (x, y, z) as following:

Text 1: 31 x, 10 y, 18 z (took 7 h to translate)
Text 2: 23 x, 6 y, 19 z (took 8 h to translate)
Text 3: 16 x, 7 z (took 2 h to translate)
Text 4: 11 x, 2 y, 12 z (took 1 h to translate)
Text 5: 47 x, 2 y, 20 z (took 9 h to translate)

My idea was to use four texts to build the model, and one to test it once built.
Where do I attack this, and how? Solving a system of equations in Excel (with the 'minverse' and 'mmult' commands) does not seem to work with a redundancy in data. I am expecting quite some error margins.
I would appreciate all input you have to offer.
Best regards,
Jowi
