I have been asked to write out the transformation given the following information.....The graph of y= x^2 is transformed by a vertical stretch of a factor 4, a horizontal stretch by a factor of 2 and a translation of 4 units up.

Is this correct? y = 4(1/2x)^2 + 4...

and if I added a shift right of 3...would it be?

y = 4(1/2x-3)^2 + 4

Yeah, y = 4(1/2x)^2 + 4 is correct.

To add a shift to the right, it will be 4(1/2(x-3) )^2 + 4
