Hi, i'm not sure if this is in the right department?

I need to find the value of A in the following formula, and my math skills are not what they used to be:

B = (2.75 x LogA) - (1/A)^0.5

Can anyone assist.

Thanks

As I see it, the value of A can be estimated numerically (if the numerical value of B is known). A closed form analytical solution is not feasible. What have you been taught about numerical methods of calculating roots?

I still how to calculate the roots of a quadratic equation, but I can't see that applying here.

You are correct. That method will not be applicable here, because here you do NOT have a quadratic equation!
