"A point moves on the y-axis with simple harmonic motion. Its y coordinate at t is given by y = 6cos(?t/4). a) Graph y as a function of t for one full cycle. b) At what time(s) during the cycle is the point passing through the origin? c) At what time(s) is the point the farthest from the origin?"

can someone please explain to me how you are supposed to do this? is there a particular formula involved as well? please help!

Draw a cosine graph. That would be a good place to start.

Amplitude: Change the min and max to 6, rather than 1.

Period: Change the period to 8 rather than 2pi.

Now what?
