The vertices of the triangle are, E(1,2) F(7,8) and G(5,-2) ... So far I've gotten the coordinates it wanted for H and J which are H (3,0) and J (6,3) .. And I've found they are parallel and the slopes 1 .. Now my problem is that it wants me to show that HJ=1/2EF and I'm sure there equal but it has two spaces for what EF equals and what HJ equals .. I've asked all my friends and my instructor hasn't been at school and I HAVE to get it done! Anyone who can understand it and help, please do! Thanks! I attached a photo of the problem and its part C , the last section/question

So you know that "A" is the correct answer? You want to put the values of HJ and EF in the two boxes.

Yes Thats what I'm trying to find out, like in the screenshot I posted of the question, and yes the answer is A and I'm sure a friend helped me with that but that's all he knew

So are you saying that you are alright now or are you saying that you do not know how to find "HJ" and "EF"? The distance between points \(\displaystyle (x_0, y_0)\) and \(\displaystyle (x_1, y_1)\) is \(\displaystyle \sqrt{(x_1- x_0)^2+ (y_1- y_0)^2}\).

Plug the coordinates of the endpoints into the distance formula, and simplify to find the values of the lengths of the segments. ;)
Can you plug those in for me and solve it?? I'm not at home and don't have paper or a pencil, this kinda just came up and I can't do stuff like that in my head
