That gives me x(x-4)=-3 but that doesn't help isolate x?
No, it does not. Have you looked up "Quadratic equation" on internet? That gives me x(x-4)=-3 but that doesn't help isolate x?
But I thought I was supposed to isolate x or y in one equation then input that result into another and then ohWhat do you feed a baby parabola?
Quadratic formula
You did the right thing to reduce the system of two equations with two variables to a single equation with a single variable. But I thought I was supposed to isolate x or y in one equation then input that result into another and then oh
If you are familiar quadratic equations, may I ask why you are having difficulties with the problem?Pretty sure sqrt(4) is 2, 6/2 = 3 and 2/2 = 1?
Oh yea my 1's 4's and 9's are not reading friendly
I'm terrible at factorizing quadratics and therefore tend to avoid it, so I need to work on that aspect.
I cannot remeber is seeing your grouping method, will look into that seems like a time saver.
