Hi, dear members and teachers. I have found the following question on quizlet. There's this answer on the back of the card. Can anyone know what this is about. I can't comprehend either the question or the answer.
thanks a lot,
eddy

A student was given two plates of counters and asked to determine which group has a greater number of counters. Which of the following could result in an error in student reasoning?
Answer.
The student draws ten frames to represent each number

Okay, thanks Mr Jeff. There should be a mistake then. Thanks for your reply.

Yes, Quizlet doesn't have them. Thanks a lot.!!!
At least I know that was a mistake.

There is an obvious error in the second step. In the first step only "5" multiplies "x2" (which I presume is x^2 (\(\displaystyle x^2\))) while in the second step all of (9+ 4- 5) multiplies it.

Hallsoflvy, thanks, but i failed to say that you need to click the arrow twice to find the problem here stated. You answered the first problem on the cards. But, thanks a lot anyways. And, yes, the choices are not given in the quizlet card so there must be an error.
