Hello I'm new here and I would like some help on one of my problems that I'll put below.

Suppose that the weight of an newborn fawn is Uniformly distributed between 1.5 and 3.9 kg. Suppose that a newborn fawn is randomly selected. Round answers to 4 decimal places when possible.

  1. The mean of this distribution is
  2. The standard deviation is
  3. The probability that fawn will weigh exactly 3.2 kg is P(x = 3.2) =
  4. The probability that a newborn fawn will be weigh between 2.3 and 3.8 is P(2.3 < x < 3.8) =
  5. The probability that a newborn fawn will be weigh more than 2.08 is P(x > 2.08) =
  6. P(x > 1.8 | x < 3.8) =
  7. Find the 49th percentile.

Please show us what you have tried and exactly where you are stuck.

Please follow the rules of posting in this forum, as enunciated at:

Please share your work/thoughts about this assignment.

Do you know what a "uniform distribution" is? Surely if you are asked a question like this you are expected to know what it is! And simple formulas for "mean" and "standard distribution" would be included in that. If you don't have a textbook, look at this:

I’m stuck on what would be 5) and 6) on that assignment
Great!

Does that mean that you have completed tasks (1) through (4)?

Please share your work for those parts - so that we know where we should start to help you for (5) and (6).

Why would you not state in your original post that you only need help for parts 5 and 6?

Also this is not a leave your problem and come back and view the answer type of website as we do not solve any problems for students. We prefer that you the student solves your own problem with our helpful hints.

It would be great if you could tell us where you are stuck and post the work you have done so far so we know what type of help you need.

Do you know what (x > 1.8 | x < 3.8) means? It is read as x>1.8 given that x<3.8. You can read it as x>1.8 BUT x<3.8. Can you please try to clean up that event?
