Two vectors OA = a (vectors) and OB = b (vectors) are given. Construct the vectors a+b and a-b, which start from point O.Look at the three cases for ∠AOB <90, ∠AOB> 90, ∠AOB = 90.
Which of these statements are possible?
a) the length of a + b (vector) is less than the length of a-b (vector)
a)|a+b|<|а-b|
b)|а-b|>|a| and |a-b|>|b|
c) | a + b | = | a-b |
**NOTE: "a" and "b" are vectors
answer: all 3 are possible

I don't know where to start... I would appreciate any help ASAP since they are for tomorrow.

You should start by drawing the two vectors for each case given (just do one at a time) and try to answer the questions. a) Draw a + b and a-b and decide if |a+b| < |a-b| is possible.

You have to try something! Especially if you want help from this forum. To receive help one needs to know where you are stuck. If we see your work, correct or not, we will then know where you are stuck. So please reply back showing your work.

Try graphical method using addition through law of parallelogram.
