= PRT; I = $2880, R = 0.08, P = $12,000.

5. From a sample of 80 new home buyers, 24 were first-time home buyers.
There were 2480 new homes sold in the county. Find the number of first-time home buyers.

1) This is an easy one just divide $2,435.76 by 3,852 that will give you the cost per square foot

2)You might try dividing 2/3 by 1/8 since their are 8 store managers to get the fraction

3)4(r-2)= 2(r+8)
Use the Distributive property

4r-8=2r+16

Put variables together

-8= -2r+16

Solve for r

subtract 16 from each side

-24=-2r

Divide by -2

r=12

4) Set up the equation like so:

2880=(12000x0.08)T

Now solve

5) This one may be allittle more tricky, however you must find the ratio of new home buyers to new homes sold in the country

Divide 2480 by 80 to get 31 ratio 31:1

Now multiply the 24 first time home buyers by 31 to get 744

There were 744 first time home buyers.
