((16x^2)/(y))^1/2

(4x)/(y^1/2)

However, how i solve it is as follows:

((16x^2)/(y))^1/2

(16x^2/2)/(y^1/2) <==== Why is this wrong? and how and why does it become (4x), is it because we try to simplify it by finding the squareroot?

(16x)/(y^1/2)

Please use parentheses when you need them and not use them when you don't.

((16 x^2)/y)^(1/2)

(16^(1/2) (x^2)^(1/2))/y^(1/2)

(4 x)/y^(1/2)

For:

(16^(1/2) (x^2)^(1/2))

(16/2) (x^2/2)

(8) (x)

8x

Hmmm what am I doing wrong..
