HI, I have just discovered that on both my paternal and maternal side my grandfathers were American WW2 servicemen. During the years the Americans were present in the UK approximately 2480000 live babies were registered of which 20000 were GI babies, this gives us a figure of 1/124 births in that period being directly attributed to serving US military.

Lets now make the assumption that half that 20000 were boys and the other half were girls, then look at population as a whole and also factor in the approximate age range that people tend to get married, what are the chances of these 20000 marrying each other, with that number and an average birth rate for that period of around 2.4, how many children would there be with both sets of grandfathers being WW2 servicemen.
