Hi, this here sucker got me pulling my hairs for a couple of minutes. Let me see if i did it right.
For a cookout for 24 persons, you can purchase two hamburgers per person.
what is the least amount of money needed to buy enough buns for the burgers if an 8-bun packet costs $0.89 and a 12-bun packet costs $1.49
let's see
the problem says each of these 24 can eat 2 burgers ( they need 2 buns, supposing it is a single burger, not double burger)
a packet of 8 buns costs 0.89
with 3 packets I have enough t feed the 24 but as it is two per head i will need 6 packets then
6* 0.89 =$ 5.34
Now, on the other hand, I am offered a 12- bun packet that will set me back $1.49.
with 2 packets I can feed the 24 but they can get two burgers s i will need 4 packets instead
4 packets * 1.49 = $5.96
What's the FIND?
what is the least amount of money needed to buy enough buns for the burgers?
With 5 buckeroos and 34 cents i can feed these 24 people 2 burgers each and save me 62 cents, which, post-covid is a big save!
what you think about it?
thanks,
eddy
