Since you've previously posted a thread about complex numbers, I can't help thinking that there might be more to this question
Must the two halves must be equal in area AND equal in shape (congruent)? I'll assume yes, because sometimes people can miss things that seem obvious afterwards. Therefore, (I'm trying to think of a subtle clue) I recommend that you consider the symmetry of the regular pentagon.
