Hello; how do i find the weight of the contents(non liquid) of a rectangular bin without picking it up onto a scale?
the Bin measures ; length is 30 cm; height is 20 cm and width is 25 cm
is it a sample weight over a fixed volume weight cross multiply by x over the existing bin volume divided by the fixed volume weight?

If I read the question correctly, part of the answer lies in what is in the bin. (How convenient is it to weigh a measured portion of it.) My solution would be to calculate the volume of the bin, say, in cubic cm. Then find the weight of say, 1000 cc (1 liter) of the contents. You could set up a proportion...

\(\displaystyle \frac{total-weight-in-bin}{total-volume-in-cc}=\frac{weight-of-1000cc}{1000cc}\)

The total volume in cc would be 30 X 20 X 25 = 15 000 cc.
