One of two supplementary angles measures 37 degrees less than four times the other. Find the measures of each angle.

Ok so the problem is in purple and I have no idea how you would set this up, so yeah if you could show me how to do that, I think that I could figure it out.

You need to remember that if two angles are supplementary, then their measures must add up to 180.

Let x = one of the angles
Then 180 - x = the other angle

Now, let's "translate" the problem from words into mathematical notation:

one of the angles is 37 less than 4 times the other
x = 4(180 - x) - 37

Ok...there's the equation. Solve it for x, and once you know what the value of x is, you can find the measure of each of the two angles.
