Music corp. makes mp3’s. last year an accountant modeled the company profit by P = -5x + 60x - 135, over the course of the year. In an effort to become more efficient music corp. restructured it’s operation, eliminated some employees, and reduced costs. This year, an accountants are using the formula
P = - 6x + 60x - 84 to project the companies profit. In both models P = profit in hundreds of thousands and x is the number of mp3’s sold in hundreds of thousands. Was music corp.’s restructuring effective? Explain and justify reasoning please!

Now i did do substitution but this unit is quadratics

In both profit equations, I’m guessing the first x term is supposed to be squared:

P = -5x^2 + 60x – 135 and P = - 6x^2 + 60x – 84

If you graph these, you’ll see they are both inverted (upside-down) parabolas. Maximum profit will be at the vertex of each parabola. The x value for the vertex is “–b/2a.” Figure out the vertex of each parabola.
