The perimeter of a rectangle is 32m. The length is 10m more than twice the width. Find the dimensions.

I am not sure how to get started on this. Please help

Start naming variables

Width = W

Length = L



Perimeter = 2(L+W) = 32

then how do I find the width?

You know

2L + 2W = 32

L + W = 16

Then using the condition you derived:

(10 + 2W) + W = 16

Now what......
