If you are given a certain bounded region and asked to revolve around a vertical axis. Would it have the same volume if you were to revolve around a horizontal axis?

Not necessarily.

Did I previously ask you to read the post titled "Read Before Posting"?

If you have not read it, then please do so.

You continue to post exercises without asking any questions. I have little time to guess at what you already know about any given situation. Please, give us a clue as to what you know and what you're thinking.

This web site does not provide any homework-completion services.

Cheers,

~ Mark :)

Yes I have read it, and I do not feel that I am in violation of it. I am working problems, and as questions arise through the process I simply ask for some sort of feedback. This is what I considered to be a general question, that's why I did not include specifics.

I don't appreciate your condescending manner. There are much better ways of asking for clarification than those you currently employ. Many people on this thread are frustrated with math, and instead of offering them a positive learning environment, you great them with disdain. Just because you are hidden behind the veil that is the internet, doesn't give you the right to be rude.

Cheers :D

It is to be regretted if a request for clarification offends you so, but I'm afraid just about any helper would ask the same sorts of questions. Sorry.

To avoid having people distress you by asking what you've done or where you're stuck, perhaps you might consider showing your work and reasoning so far...? Apologies in advance.

Thank you. It was not necessarily the question that was asked, but the manner in which it was asked. I understand now the extent to which I need to provide clarification. I want to keep this message board positive, as I'm sure everyone else does.

... Yes I have read it ... Thank you for answering my question. Prior to asking that question, I reviewed the threads that you have initiated at this site. In general, you post exercises without asking any questions, or showing any work, or explaining what you know, or stating what it is that you are thinking. I'm behind a veil; I have no idea who you are or what you need.

... I simply ask for some sort of feedback ... I regret that I do not see any simple requests for feedback. Over what exactly are you trying to request feedback in this thread?

... that's why I did not include specifics ... Thank you for this explanation. I would suggest that you include something like it in your future initiating posts that lack context for what you're trying to accomplish. This way, it will be clear to others that you are chatting, rather than asking about a homework assignment.

... I don't appreciate your condescending manner ... You may consider this statement acknowledged by me. Do you possess any appreciation for the reply which I provided for your question? If you do not understand why changing the axis of rotation sometimes leads to a change in volume, and you would like to chat about it some more, then please feel free to ask additional questions.

... There are much better ways of asking for clarification ... There certainly are.

... the right to be rude. (Neither I nor anyone else needs a right to be rude.) :p

I want to thank you for offering your assistance on this forum. I really do have the utmost appreciation for the replies you give.
