Write an equation for 'An athlete runs at a rate of...'

Can you people help me with this equation please: An athlete runs at a rate of 8 feet per second for 5 seconds.
 
I need to fix that, so here is the right thing.

I am trying to find distance by the way. d=rt.

An equation has an "equals" sign, which is (very roughly) approximately like a verb in a sentence. But "so fast for so long" doesn't have a verb. If the statement had been "so fast for so long is what distance?", then you could have formed an equation. But I don't believe you can, from what you've posted. Sorry.

t = 5 sec
