Frank is a salesperson at a furniture store. His monthly income I dollars depends on his monthly sales S dollars. His income and sales are related by the function I = 0.05S + 800.
Graph the function. :?

Re: Calculus

Do you have a calculator?. I assume so. Just change the S to an x and graph away.

\(\displaystyle y=.05x+800\)

For that matter, just get a piece of graphing paper and plot some points.

If x=0, then y=800

If x=1, then y=800.50

and so on

By the way, I am going to move this to the algebra forum. This is not calculus.

Re: y=mx+b

y-intercept=800
slope=.05?
how does that work?

To learn how to graph linear equations (which they were supposed to have covered before assigning graphing questions!), try here. To learn how to graph, given the slope and the y-intercept, try here.

Have fun! :wink:
