The subject I am learning at the moment is about the Z-transformation.

The answer to the problem is, [MATH]3z/(3z-1)[/MATH]
The problem is as follows,

Determine the Z-transformation of [MATH]y[n] = u[n]\cdot3^{-n}[/MATH]Where [MATH]u[n] = 1 \space for\space n\geq0 \space \land 0 \space for \space n < 0[/MATH]
I can't figure out how to get to the answer, help is really appreciated.
If something isn't as clear please let me know and I'll fill you in.

Start from the definition of the z-transform. Write the sum down from that link, but instead of x[n] put [MATH]u[n]\cdot3^{-n}[/MATH]. See if you can start to simplify.
