Dr Khan has found that to be (x + 6)/2 = ( x/2 ) + (6/2) = (x/2 ) + 3
this is not the same as my result $$1/2x+3$$

Choice 1
$$1/2x+3=-x+3$$$$1/2x+3+x=-x+x+3$$$$3/2x+3=3$$$$3/2x+3-3=3-3$$$$3/2x=0$$$$(2/3)(3/2x)=2/3(0)$$$$x=0$$
Now with choice 3
$$1/2x+3=-2x+7$$$$1/2x+3+2x=-2x+2x+7$$$$5/2x+3=7$$$$5/2x+3-3=7-3$$$$5/2x=4$$$$(2/5)(5/2x)=2/5(4)$$$$x=8/5$$
$$x= 0$$$$x=8/5$$

The purpose?
To prove that these two equations have a negative slope and hence a downward movement.
