bad moderating!

I have been on this website for about and week and on my FIRST day I have posted a message which was very helpful and in no way inappropriate or problematic and its still waiting to be approved! I think this system is very bad and moderation of new messages should be by a bot. If the bot makes a mistake, this is what the read moderators should be for, to remove those after they're posted. I don't think I am able to help or get help this way.

Actually, that post has already been approved well before the above posting. Apologies if this was not fast enough for your taste. But, as you learned when you read the "Read Before Posting" posting, there is no paid staff waiting on-hand to provide immediate service to you. Sorry.

I'm sorry, but I have to agree. The moderating here is... just... awful. 3 weeks ago I tried posting a question. No luck. Then I tried again. Nothing again. I've tried the "contact us" link and inquired 3 or 4 times. Zero response. It's been nearly a month and no-one bothered to either respond to me or approve my posts. This one probably won't be approved either.
 
My first two postings were finally approved. It took at least 5 weeks, but due to the non-functioning board I stayed away and only noticed today: four months and three days later. This is terrible.

The boards were effectively without moderation for a project period. I've been keeping a closer eye on it, but will likely shift operations to others in the coming year.

I hope this will not result in an abuse of power, as I can tell from another website I recently left for exactly this reason. No moderation is still better than moderated unilateral arbitrariness.

I understand the theory, but no moderation is totally unworkable, especially for an educational forum. The garbage that gets posted is unacceptable.

Yes, I am frequently reminded of how less common sense and politeness are valued on the internet these days. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, sigh.

This is why successful websites like StackExchange are heavily moderated.
 
A contentious exchange has been removed, more or less illustrating the point of why I need to do a better job moderating or recruiting moderators.
