You need to first find out what the common denominator would be (no need to get common denominator) and then multiply both sides by that factor(s). This will clear out all denominators. Now solve for x, but keep in mind that for example (x-5)/(x-5)\(\displaystyle \neq\)1 so you need to make sure that your answers are really answers.
