Find and graph the solution set of x^2-1>x+5

I know I need to make one side 0 and factor:

(x+2) (x-3) >0

I need help knowing what t do next. Thank you!

He;llo, Jodene!

Find and graph the solution set of: .x² - 1 .> .x + 5

I know I need to make one side 0 and factor: .(x + 2) (x - 3) .> .0

They asked for a graph.

We have the function: .y .= .(x + 2)(x - 3)
. . and we are asked: "When is the graph above the x-axis?"

We find that it is an up-opening parabola with x-intercepts -2 and 3.

Looking at the sketch, the solution is: .x < -2 .or .x > 3.

. . or: .(-∞, -2) U (3, ∞)
