Need help with formula calculation (plug in of numbers)

I have a textbook example that calculates "Total Costs (TC)".

The text provides me the value(s) for Total Costs (TCsub0, TCsub1, TCsub2), but I'm not entirely following how to plug in my values that will give me e.g. "TCsub0 = $363,900".

Particularly, I'm uncertain about the VsubI and QsubI portions. In other words, I don't know how to correctly "plug in" the numbers.

I've scanned the example... JPG image can be viewed at:

So my question: Could someone please help me "walk through" the first calculation "TCsub0" that gives me the value "$363,900"?

Thanks!

Denis,

steps to view image:

- right-click on image
- select "Save Pictures As"... save to your machine
- open up JPG... it is probably at 10% zoom... increase zoom to 50%

... the "2000 year old parchment" will have changed to "21st century problem". 8)

Here's what I currently have... I'm off by $20.

TCsub0 calculation (which should be $363,900):

Portion 1 of formula:
(120,000/5,000)*100
= 2,400

Portion 2 of formula:
((0+((5,000-0))*2.96))*0.2)/2
= 1,480

Portion 3 of formula:
(120,000/5,000)*(0+((5,000-0)*3))
= 360,000

2,400 + 1,480 + 360,000 = 363,880

... so, I'm off by $20... what part of the calculation is wrong?

Viewed how? All I see is an unreadable 2000 years old parchment
It's a really, really huge graphic: 2550 pixels by 3300 pixels. Unless you've got a ginormous screen, you'll need to do loads of scrolling back and forth. (I gave up.)

You may just be seeing an oddly tinted (and blank) corner of the graphic. Try scrolling faaaaar to the right. You should hit text eventually.
