Can someone help me figure out this problem?

(6x to the negative second power y to the third power)raised to the negative 3rd

Thanks for your help

Re: Negative Exponents

\(\displaystyle \left(6x^{-2}y^{3}\right)^{-3}\)

I'm guessing you need to simplify this. Two things that will help:

\(\displaystyle \left(a^{m}\right)^{n} = a^{m \cdot n}\)

\(\displaystyle a^{-n} = \frac{1}{a^{n}}\)

Re: Negative Exponents

That is the way I worked it and came up with

x[sup:2vfjxr07]6[/sup:2vfjxr07]_____
216y[sup:2vfjxr07]9[/sup:2vfjxr07]

Does that look right?
