-11/2 = a(-1-1) squared + k
-11/2 = 4a +k

1/2 = a(1/8-1)squared + k
1/2 = a (-19/16) + k

-11/2 = 4a + k
1/2 = -19/16 +k

Looks to me like you interchanged the x and y values of the second point. I think the second equation should be 1/8 = (1/4)a + k.
