Quadratic word problem

I didn't carefully check your work but saw flaws in it.

Time is in seconds, minutes, hours, nano seconds, years, centuries, etc. You say that it will take 48m for the ball to reach its max height. m or meters is a length, not a time!

You also wrote that that it will take the ball 3.1 m to reach the max height. Again 3.1m is a length not a height. Be careful with this.

Hi omginh123. Overall, your work is good. In addition to Jomo's recent comments about units, I'd suggest adding the word 'about' to your written answers. (I like how you answer word problems with a complete sentence.) Maybe your instructor doesn't care about rounding error within steps and answers. Because they didn't specify how many digits to report, you get to choose, but state your answers as approximates. (I do see some rounding error and false equations, in your work, but none of that affected your values rounded to the nearest tenth.)

"The ball will travel about 6.2 seconds, before hitting the ground."
"It will take the ball about 3.1 seconds, to reach maximum height."

For part (c), you don't need to report how long anything took. They ask only for the height.

"The maximum height of the ball is about 48m."
